Prepare your application:

  1. Choose schools: make a list of the schools of your choice. These tips will help you along.
  2. Inform yourself about the procedure:
    • read the brochure (available in 8 languages) or the information on this website carefully
    • watch the information video explaining the application and registration procedure
    • watch the video explaining how the places are assigned after the application period
    • attend an online information session by LOP Brussel
  3. Check if your child has priority
  4. Gather the necessary data and documents: this checklist will help you along.
  5. See how many places are available: are there still places available in the schools you want to apply to for your child?

Special education

Special elementary education

Prepare your application:

  1. Get to know the schools. Each school offers a number of specific types of education (in Dutch). Inquire with the school's management team or care coordinator. The Pupil Guidance Centre (CLB) will also help you with this.
  2. Inform yourself about the procedure: read the brochure (available soon in 8 languages) or the information on this website carefully.
  3. Check if your child has priority and gather the necessary documents to prove your priority.
  4. Gather the necessary data and documents:
    • national identification number of your child
    • details of the parent(s): address, email address, mobile phone or land line number
    • a list of schools of your choice in order of preference
    • optionally the documents to prove your priority
    • the special education report and/or the name of your contact person at the CLB (if you have one)
